I don't think the number of patents is significant.

It's the scope of the patent that is important for locking out competitors. For example, if we are the only ones who can use a "call-back" via voice/text to send a login code on a mobile phone, to authenticate a user, we will pretty much have locked up that type of authentication.

Patents can get VERY specific as to a method of processing etc., so there can be multiple vendors doing similar things but not stepping on each others patents. That's why SFOR has gone back with add-on revisions to their original OOB patent as they add new authentication methods.

So, maybe this is what they have been waiting on in order to launch the MobileTrust product. They may have been thinking there is no reason to market the product without locking out competitors.

There could be more good news about MobileTrust launch coming shortly!

This patent should put a fork in the Phonefactor negotiations and give the patent office something to use as justification for a quick resolution to the Authentify countersuit that SFOR requested be thrown out.
