I was talking to a friend of mine who works in oil/gas in North Dakota. He said they had a well that they needed a crane at recently but it was so wet that they had to haul in a ton of rock/gravel. Even with that they could see huge waves/ripples in the mud when the crane was moving. Like a rock thrown into water but on a huge scale.

So then I try to imagine working in dirt like that to build roads/foundations? Seems impossible without a TON of extra work and money.
