He may have spoken truth, but to excuse the reasons for all of it due to slavery and poverty is most wrong and naive and manipulative.

If everything a young black male does wrong can always be blamed on slavery or poverty, then there is nothing they ever can do that the black community won't forgive and want to forget, because "it's not really their fault."

Blacks are something like 30% of the population, yet 60% of the prison population. 33% of black men will go to prison at some time in their life. Black and Hispanic students make up about 70 percent of school-related arrests.

Liberals will try to blame these statistics on "profiling," but to think that is the total reality is not very bright.

When BHO says young black males experience "prejudice" because people lock their doors, or they are followed in stores more often, there is GOOD REASON for that.

Do young black males commit more crimes and more violent crimes, or do they just get arrested more due to police overlooking or ignoring the white criminals? Poverty does cause many things, but so does culture and genetics. Sure some of the slanted stats are due to people and police being extra leery of young black males, but there is good reason for that. And until the black community begins to impress on the youngest black males what is acceptable and what is not, and until they stop having babies out of wedlock, and until they stop listening to the destructive rap culture, and on and on, the situation will never change. All races and all people have many handicaps and problems to overcome. Using excuses, and especially having the leader of the country offer excuses does no one any good.

More free money from the federal gov't will never change people's culture or their genetics or their lack of motivation or morals.

There is a huge white culture on the same level, but the percentages are much lower. Lots of work to do, but always being a "victim" of slavery or poverty will never help cure the real issues of the heart.
