Hey swing...just a little clarification on my part...

"make" can be used as a "driver". MMs sole purpose is to "make" money. They typically "drive" the market because they are the market makers on a typical day. But there are factors that can drive their actions in one way or another which come from outside influence rather than strictly their MM control.

PRs for example. They do NOT have a crystal ball either. An issuance of a very positive PR by the company would 'demand' their reaction if they want to maximize their purpose of making money. They too must be attuned to those outside factors which enhance their ability to make money.

You must also be aware that the real power buyer and seller in the market is NOT the MMs - it is the individual investor in mass that really drive the train. If the mass says BMSN is considered worth it and increase their demand for its shares - the MMs will listen and react accordingly to, again, maximize their profit. Of course, when the investor's interest wanes, look out - the MMs ARE back in the driver's seat.
