I can't honestly say that I know exactly what your point is. Best I can tell is that it is something like "QuantiSpeed is bad".

It's no wonder AMD cannot emerge from the shadow of Intel.

That's a big shadow, and Intel will not willing let AMD emerge completely. If anyone thinks that AMD will slay Intel, I got news for them. I also have some "bottom land" that they might be interested in.

That does not mean that AMD throws in the towel. The have done, and need to do wahtever is necessary to remain competitive.

But hey, if the model number scheme is so great, why is it that it still needs to be defined and redefined now?

You know why, I feel certain. AMD must necessarily redefine a kludgy concept every time an advancement like more cache, or higher FSB changes the playing field.

Yeah, I know, after years of constant disappointments, it gets tiring being a 'Droid, doesn't it? wink
