buz, setting the wayback machine to that period of time years ago to which you refer, I think that you and I have swapped mentalities here completely, back then you were the true believer and I was the skeptic, and as it turns out, I was right then, and I hopefully I will be right again now too

the materials have always had great potential and I recognized that fact but the company back then was somewhat of a shell looking company on a super duper shoestring budget, and as such was certainly hyped way too soon, some of the differences between then and now off the top of my head are as follows

1) the spacer development
2) several key patents being allowed to protect the IP
3) getting beyond the shoestring budget and getting real funding to advance the materials to commercial viability
4) getting some big name talent on board (I think we all know the names)
5) getting real lab(s) & lab equipment
6) getting the right people in those labs & the right relationships with universities & companies to facilitate success (ongoing process)
7) getting the materials purified & process repeatable within the tolerances of commercial viability

personally I am convinced that lightwave will succeed at this point, will it be tomorrow or the next day, no probably not, but I think we are getting pretty darn close to devices with commercial viability now and I am very excited about this, after all, literally billions have been spent trying to develop e/o and a/o and no company to-date has that true next gen material yet, I am believing that we do now
