The Google balloon project was being discussed on NPR's 'All Things Considered' on my commute home today. The science editor said the internet connection was very spotty and rather unreliable during the test. However, he emphasized that if Google wasn't serious about building a stratospheric network, it wouldn't have gone public with the initial test information.

My take away is that they are dead serious about trying to make this work. Whether WSGI can actually benefit remains to be seen.
