And for a shower water heater to be considered viable it needs to have a flow of about 2.2 GPM and get the water to about 110 deg for a hot shower. With a worst case scenario of ground water close to freezing that's a almost 80deg temperature delta. Maybe 70 might just cut it or less in warmer climates... Those are very rough numbers but definitely in the ballpark. Anything less than that and it isn't a household point of use unit, it is something else... They may be able to market it as something else but if the technology can't be scaled up enough to provide at least a point of use unit (and economically as far as price, size and current needed) then chances are it's a failure.
