"The patented & patent pending detection process identifies drug strengths in real-time, validating proper dose / concentration of high-risk compounded medications and treatment solutions."

Here they are talking about both the old Valimed (using patented technolog) which uses a cuvette and the new G4 (using patent pending technology) which allegedly does not use a cuvette for the measurement of drug strength in real time. They're combining the two tecnologies together which causes confusion as to what each separate technolgies can actually do.

The old Valimed measured molar drug strength in real time to an acceptable level of accuracy for drug dosage validation. I believe Dr. Stevenson reported it was within 10% accurate.

The question is can the G4 measure molar drug strength in real time without the use of a cuvette? I don't believe it can and I CERTAINLY DON'T BELIEVE it can measure multi-component drug strenghts in real time.

In the PR from the 2011 ASHP show CDEx claims,

"The ValiMed G4 drug validation system helps healthcare providers ensure patient safety and control costs by reducing medication errors. The patented detection process identifies drug strengths and volume-by-weight in real-time, validating proper dose, diluents and concentration of high-risk compounded medications and treatment solutions."

Once again, CDEx is referring to their patented tecnology, not their patent pending technology, they are to different things. Can anyone show me where CDEx explicitly states the G4 can measure molar drug strength in real time?
