AK,

Given Vascepa's safety and efficacy, the only reason not to take Vascepa now for the ANCHOR and MARINE populations is cost.
Assume no insurance coverage, V cost $2400.00/yr. Instead of waiting for 3 years (may be 2 if we get lucky)for the reduce-it result, I decide to start taking V now. I'll waste $7200 if reduce-it fails (less than 50% probability given Jelis result). However, if reduce-it proves successful, my cardiovascular health will have a 3-year head start, i.e., increase my life span by at least a couple years. I have thrown away $7200 for much less worthy cause before. To me taking V now is a no brainer for me. By the way, my mother-in-law also agrees with me. Have a goodnight.
