RW, I wasn't clear on your offer of professional assistance to GTC. I met yesterday (yes, Sunday) with a former business channel manager for Verizon. Among other things I probed his view on sat comm sales to corporations and business executives. He thinks there might be a market there for travel issues and tertiary redundancy(secondary redundancy is usually covered by wireless/cell).
I was thinking of putting together a proposal to Phipps for a retail channel/dealership to the business (not yachting, not police, not hikers) market. To your point, it doesn't seem like the GTC-USA ecommerce approach is making big inroads there at the moment. LOL. Any interest in collaborating on a formal proposal to Phipps for a dealership in that market? Phipps handles customer support, fulfillment, payment processing and we handle sales and a separate, specialized ecommerce web portal? You could mess with it in your area once we get the target market and sales strategy down.
Kind of light a candle instead of cursing the darkness sort of thing. Or, as I was taught, there is opportunity in underperformance. All he can do is say no. We could work out the revenue sharing if he says yes.
I was kind of expecting you to be disappointed about GTC when I saw your $600K projection for the quarter. They only have the one ecommerce site here in the States and resale premium through the UK. Trident hasn't even got their portal up yet but they can work out all the bugs in the concept of specialized ecommerce dealers for this project.
GTC always has that idling potential of FedGov contracts or ground stations. That and the potential of how to use that free simplex--hate to lose that before I run down a couple of more ideas. But you are right we need more than potential from them right now.
