Currently, thermal SWD devices are regulated as Class II devices, and have only been cleared for prescription use (product code: IMJ).
So, if BIEL is successful in their petition to get moved to the IMJ product code they will not necessarily be approved for OTC sales. I was under the impression that IMJ products were already available over the counter.
