im not a doctor but im a pharmacist and from what i know for severe back/nerve pain they can give a TCA like amitriptyline or Pregabalin (anti-epileptics work great in this instance)

also NSAIDs like ibuprofen 600mg three times daily will help

im not sure about vascepa...id consider these instances before epidurals
