By the way, this does bring up an interesting point about that statement.
Does it make sense that the CEO of ANI would make such a statement to a BPAX shareholder knowing full well that that shareholder is posting on IHUB/Yahoo and that he would repeat this statement to other BPAX shareholders especially with ANI wanting BPAX shareholders to approve the merger?
If the CEO of ANI really did make this statement to Jeff, it tells me one of two things:
1) He made this statement on purpose knowing full well that Jeff would repeat it to many other BPAX shareholders via stock message boards in hopes that many shareholders would dump their shares on this news and make it easier for ANI to eventually merge with BPAX, or
2) knowing that the shareholders on IHUB and yahoo combined would have voted "No" on the initial deal thus providing enough votes for the quorum but not enough to surpass the "Yes" votes and thus having the merger approved.
Luckily, #2 did not pan out because most shareholders were smart enough to realize that abstaining was the right decision on the first deal. The possibility of #1 occurring still exists, imo.
