Scandinavian Almond Bars

Makes: 48 bars Nutrition Information

Almond flavors star in a tender, tasty little bite of Europe.



1 roll (18 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated sugar cookies
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 egg white
1 tablespoon water
1 cup sliced almonds
1/4 cup sugar



1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 15x10-inch pan with sides. Break up cookie dough into large bowl. Add cinnamon and almond extract; mix well. With floured fingers, press dough mixture evenly in bottom of greased pan.
2. In small bowl, beat egg white and water until frothy. Brush over dough. Sprinkle evenly with almonds and sugar.
3. Bake 17 to 22 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool completely, about 30 minutes. For diamond-shaped bars, cut 5 straight parallel lines about 1 1/2 inches apart down length of pan; cut diagonal lines about 1 1/2 inches apart across straight lines.
