Ace Utilities is an excellent start.

When was the last time you defragged? Do you defrag every day? If not, will you defrag now and make a committment to defrag every day? Do you defragt in public or alone? Does defragging seem like a point I am trying to make to you? (g)

The best way to find out what is going on with your nachine is to run the PC pitstop tests and post the results. There are two Pitstop links in the IBox which will show you the way.
