In my case, even Bruce Thompson, who designed my computer (I built it) ultimately believed I had a defective mobo. The trick was to take out the CMOS -and- to move the jumper cap. I had taken out the CMOS before with no positive results until moving the cap over and back, which reset everything and the computer was good as new after that. Haven't had a spontaneous reboot or any other problem with it since.
