I don't recall the news stating which parking lot was "full of employees cars". At one time there were 4 lots. Two of the lots are next to the building. The west lot was specifically for employees, mainly the execs. Some regular workers.
The lot to the east was used by some employees and also rented to a couple of the lofts (across the street and one block east).
When I left, there were 4 cars left in my lot.
I think it's unfair to say there was some type of celebration going on. I'm guessing (like you are) it was a last get together for them before they exit the building for good.
I was furloughed most of January. I was brought back and fortunately found a new job. When I finally left after 8 years there were very few people left. Now there are less. Many are tired and searching for new opportunities. Most of my friends who were furloughed found new jobs. Some are still looking.
You are right, there are still some employees there. Very few though.
The execs don't want to answer questions. Basically cowards.
Between studio support and customer service, there were about 3 people left. Now I believe there are none.
I hope you and everyone else find work you enjoy doing. I enjoyed helping the studios. I also let them know I personally appreciated all their hard work. They thought tech support was hard, I believe everyone at the studio had the most challenging job making the children laugh and working with parents when it became difficult.
Many times I heard customers cursing and berating associates for issues they had no control over.
Thanks to each of you who helped make my job at CPI enjoyable and rewarding. You did well working under difficult circumstances.
