No one should be punished for their thoughts no matter how sick and twisted the majority of people thik they are.

You are right. No one should be punished for their thoughts. However, when their thoughts turn to action against someone, then they should be punished for it.

I do feel if someone attacks someone just because they are black, or Muslim or whatever, then there should be some type of additional penalty. It is not the thought that should be penalized, but the action.
