I have been asked to be a DM numerous times even when I was with PCA and I have always said no way because it is bad enough to be on call all the time with a studio little long a whole district. I also don't want to be threatened every freaking day with firing. I don't need a RD trying to show me how to intimidate employees by bullying them and screaming at me because the economy is in free fall and sales are down in my district and its my fault. My prior DM's have told me all about the job for a small raise in pay and it is not worth that for me. Oh yeah and forget ever having a family life because family always takes a backseat to the job. Don't forget their is no overtime pay for all the extra time you put in. So I know quite a bit about their job they do. The RD's and corporate people dictate orders and expectations that can never be met. Being a DM is a thankless job for little pay back and the only thing you get out of it is experience to possibly be a manager at some other place.
