So there appears to be an avalanche of recent reports indicating the commercialization of silicon photonics is now. For example:

"Fraunhofer IPMS will introduce two new innovative liquid crystal waveguide based demonstrators designed for switching and modulating of optical signals."

Also, the numerous excellent videos that have been posted in recent days to this message board featuring Intel and IBM. (Thank you all, very high quality DD in my opinion).

My question is this: I don't beieve they all (Fraunhofer, IBM, and Intel) can be in talks with Lighwave.

So for the one that is not going to use Lightwave's technology, how competitive are they? Can Fraunhofer's liquid crystals compete with what we have? Are they not competing for the same business?
