There's quite a bit of evidence for activation of the JAK/STAT pathway in a variety of different tumors and as part of the resistance mechanism to existing drugs. But it's a significant challenge to find just the right indications, drug combinations and biomarkers.

Generally agree with this. However, after listening to a few conferences lately, I get the sense that they almost think they can improve survival through an increase in constitutional symptoms. They've been continuously turning talk of mechanism towards the general cachexia experienced by people with cancer.

Offhand I'm not aware of many drugs that impact survival in cancer through these types of secondary mechanisms. But if that does indeed pan out, you could have a rather large number of indications on your hands.
