BCCI - is this Scam Wednesday and I didn't get the memo?

BCCI which opened today at $.016/share put out a PR that they will be up listing to the NASDAQ and they even go as far as to announce what their new symbol will be

SEATTLE, March 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Baristas Coffee Company, Inc. (OTCPK:BCCI), a fast growing U.S. based beverage and branded products company, has today announced that it has completed all requirements and that its application to receive a symbol to be traded on the NASDAQ Capital Market has been approved. The symbol issued to Baristas Coffee Company is (NASDAQ:BAPI).

Baristas will continue to trade under the symbol OTCPK:BCCI throughout the application process and comment periods until such time as it completes its up listing and begins to trade on the NASDAQ Capital Markets at which time it will trade under the newly reserved symbol NASDAQ:BAPI.

The companies that are listed on NASDAQ Capital Market need to satisfy all the required qualifications for NASDAQ securities in Rule 4300. The companies also need to adhere to the corporate governance standards set by NASDAQ.

BCCI is non-SEC reporting company. They aren't even meeting the requirements to be listed on the OTCBB let alone an exchange that has a minimum share price, minimum market cap, and minimum revenue among other requirements.

This PR is a complete joke.

BCCI doesn't come any where remotely close to the up listing requirements so their application, assuming they really did apply, will no doubt get denied.

That won't stop naive investors from believing the fraudulent press release and pushing up the stock price of this often pump&dumped ticker.

They may also want to file a Complaint with the SEC at the online Complaint portal or consider contacting FINRA about this matter as well.

I contacted NASDAQ and they said they had already seen the BCCI press release and have already started looking into the matter. NASDAQ confirmed that BCCI is not currently listed on the NASDAQ and is not even being considered to be listed there in the future.
