O.T. -- Ha! Kozuh, as long as you're talking about methane "emissions," it's really perturbing to know that climate change is exacerbating the melting of the tundra, which is one big METHANE ICE, and as it melts and releases methane-- which is a greenhouse gas some 30 times more insidious than CO2 in trapping heat-- it's creating a vicious cycle of an overall hotter planet and, yes, MORE melting of the tundra!

It's also the case that humanity's spreading, soaring meat-eating activity (think of how the Chinese, Japanese and Koreans have changed from their traditional plant-eating diet) has artificially, hugely inflated the number of livestock animals by billions to feed all these extra meat-eating humans; and the methane emissions from these animals are such a significant factor in climate change (not to mention the CO2 from electricity needed to refrigerate dead animals) that the UNEP has several times now in the last few years declared that the NUMBER ONE best way to help mitigate climate change is to "eat lower on the food chain," i.e., a largely plant-based diet (near-vegetarian, vegetarian or completely vegan).

One more thing: clear-cutting virgin forest to make way for grazing beef cattle explodes exponentially the termite population and they, too, excrete significant amounts of methane.

Just some things to think about....

Frankly, i think that with the tundra melting we're likely all to be "toast" in about 20-50 years.

Sorry for the "rant" if anyone is offended....
But when i hear "methane" i think of more than "farts."
