Police release ID of man killed in Downtown Expressway crash

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

A Richmond man was killed in a crash Friday morning on the Downtown Expressway.

Frederick E. Goetz Jr., 52, 1400 died when his car ran off the left side of the Downtown Expressway and flipped over.

All lanes re-opened shortly after 9:00 a.m., but State Police are still investigating the crash. They are still working to notify the driver's family and haven't released his name.

The crash happened around 7:00 a.m. just east of Rosewood Avenue in the City of Richmond.

No other vehicles were involved.
