Took a look at the initial material performances and it appears to work "slower" into a device. Maybe that is a good question to ask why that is.

From some time ago:

The material has demonstrated r33 values in excess of 250 picometers per volt at 1550 nanometers, extraordinary thermal stability and robust resistance to photo bleaching.

Now:

Tests conducted by the University of Colorado Boulder (UCB) on coupons coated with the material demonstrated consistent R33 measurements from 100-125 picometers per volt.
