I think it's pretty ridiculous to say that Michelle Sykes has a character flaw because she didn't do continuing education and let her license lapse.
IMO that's a pretty minor event, especially since she doesn't practice law anymore.
It has absolutely no bearing on her ability to perform her duties as COO of MJNA.
Don't try to turn a molehill into a mountain.
