I don't have a formal market analysis but if you will accept a little unvalidated qualitative research, I will offer you this. IMO the tactical LTA market has been dominated by mom and pop shops--not a single publicly traded company I know of. The sensor packages available have been too heavy for small platforms, relegating tactical LTA to poor performance lighter packages.

But in the past decade Micro Aeriaol Vehicle needs have driven down the size and cost)of high performance sensor packages. It is ALL about sensors and not UAV's of course. If sensors could fly there would be no UAV's or aersotats. Except to carry weapons--sorry Nil. No MQ-1's but plenty of MQ-9's.

Let's pretend now that new lighter sensors other than visual have appeared to meet important needs. We won't speculate what--let's just say multi-spectral. Suddenly the sensors need platforms other than Micro Aerial Vehicles to do persistent surveillance. And the former persistent surveillance people have big expensive platforms that our over sized. Maybe like the change from main frames to PC's.

This is a market threat to companies who make big envelopes and a market opportunity for companies who can make small ones. But who but a publicly traded company is going to go out and take a big loan and try to dominate a new market?

I recognize that WSGI has been battered in the storm. But now a Spanish galleon of gold is sitting in front of them. Can they get their cannon(s) to fire? Can they get their marines on her deck? Seems like the cap'n is going to try and I am over the rail with him? Why the he!! not? Beats eating hard tack and beeching about how bad the bilge smells IMO. I am a realist. But I can recognize a Spanish galleon when I see one. And I am not timid. Little bit of market analysis and a little bit of metaphor. I think it is on point, though. Warm regards, IndyJonesOhio
