Provisional Applications

In the PR today they included this comment:

"In that spirit, six new provisional applications geared toward such efficiencies have been filed with the U.S. Patent Office in the first two months of 2013 alone."

I wonder what else they have in store? The patent they informed us about today was originally filed several years ago.

If memory serves me, when you file a Provisional Application for a patent, you are permitted to use the phrase "Patent Pending" or some other similar verbiage on whatever you are selling.
