Thank you murocman! Quite a helpful reply. I too was wondering what the cost difference would be between IV and this nanotab platform.

One big point of attraction to me is the US Army funded ALX-R04 that is currently in phase II. The ease of use and high bioavailability in the field would prove this technology to be worth the extra cost.

Also, although IV use is cheaper (do you happen to have any figures on this?) nanotab clearly has benefits compared to IV including far better patient satisfaction since the pain med delivery would be patient controlled which is known to be a big plus with doctors as well.

I suppose we will see, as you pointed out the entities who will be paying need to be on board. Hopefully nurses have some pull in this because saving them time is saving everyone time (and money) in a hospital setting.
