I have been in the powerline busines for over 33 years as a lineman. I have driven, operated, worked on, worked around deisel trucks, cats, excavators, nodwells, hildabrands, boom trucks tractortrailers ect. The newer deisel trucks that have the filters and burners for the exhuast now a days are pure junk and are a complete pain in the ass plus they really STINK. Next time you are behind a newer Ford powerstroke that stink you smell comes from the exhuast. These new deisel trucks on the road now have a small tank to put D.E.F. in (deisel exhuast fluid) Yes every fuel up you should top up the def. Oh by the way def freezes. There are heaters in the tank. But if you parked outside over the weekend guess what your def tank is frozen and you shouldent leave for a couple of hours until the tank is unfrozen. And if you want to fill your tank guess what your def jug is frozen. What a joke. Oh and another thing the burn unit takes up the space where your right hand fuel tank USE TO BE, your fuel capacity cut in half, anothe sick joke. The truck manufactures solution of complying to the polution laws does not work. burns more fuel costs more money daily, extreme pain in the ass in winter. THEY ARE JUNK PERIOD.
