I can not just download straight to SP3...

I have to download SP1, then SP2, then I can download SP3.

So I did like you suggested.

Copied SP1 to the thumbdrive on the Win7 computer, then brought it to the XP computer.

When I open the SP1 file off the thumbdrive on the XP computer, it tries to extract the file from Microsoft's website. It must be a "live" file (for lack of a better terminology).

I can't do that because I can not open Microsoft's site on the XP computer due to the lack of Internet Explorer 8.
