Economic growth for China is now projected at an annual 9%. International attention to this market will grow dramatically as the 2008 Olympics approach. Taking these factors into consideration and the planned acquisition of Jump makes Hartcourt a steal at the current stock price.
The trick for Carrie is to figure out how much equity Hartcourt needs to put into Jump. On the one hand the greater the equity (95%) the better the near term bottom line and the sooner the move to Nasdaq can be made. On the other hand, a smaller but controlling equity (51%) would retain limited Hartcourt resources for more acquisitions. The right call on these kind of decisions is what makes a great CEO. It is also the sign of a great CEO to get to the point where such decisions are called for.
