OK, how about this--so far LTA UAV's have been directed by the weight of the ISTAR the DoD wants to carry. Glad by the way that target acquisition (TA) has come up here so it is public knowledge. A laser designator can paint a target from an aerostat and a PG mortar round can be fired or dropped from an MAV and land +/- very short distance.

Your post has gotten me thinking that WSGI could use MAV ISR (leave out the TA) and create a mini-Argus that would not need to be segmented (small envelope means less Munk-load) that could be marketed to law enforcement. Both the BiB and Argus are the size they are because of the DoD payload weights. Everyone wants to build HTA MAV's--WSGI could be first with MicroLTA UAS. Not so good for military use--susceptible to small arms fire. Possibly great for fire, forestry, crowd control, etc. There are some R/C blimps like this of course. The key is to be ruggedized and tactical--maybe include a BiB recycler and sat links. Hmm. . . Thanks, Ren. IJO
