Long time contributor to the AIM board, Don Carlson, passed away on November 30th. He was instrumental in quantifying much of the data presented with the many ideas that have come to the AIM BB over the years.
Along with doing sound analysis of others' ideas, he also presented his own. Among the original ideas Don brought to the Board were consideration of blending some Technical Analysis with traditional AIM to make AIM's trading more efficient. He also created some of his own interesting concepts along the line of Scale Trading that mirrored AIM to a degree. A variation of that was also created to assure that cash reserves were essentially never fully depleted.
I met with Don several times over the years to discuss various ideas. He and I would meet at "The Brat Stop" in southern Wisconsin along I-94 which about equally spit the distances we'd drive. Don and his wife Angie resided part of the year in the Chicago area and part in Florida. So, I'd see Don "seasonally."
Don was a wizzard with spreadsheets. He was also the first person to bring to my attention the Zig Zag graphic capability at StockCharts.com. If you've been around the AIM board for a long time, you'll remember Don's posts. If you are a more recent member, then you're the direct beneficiary of many of Don's ideas and his hard work.
