I totally understand what you are saying but I really think Google's deep pockets render the variations somewhat immaterial. I guess what I am trying to say is that $500 million, $750 million or even a billion paid to vrng (i wish) is relatively immaterial to Google...especially if they can make this rash go away without longer term implications to their investor relations/stock price from an uncertain royalty ruling/situation going forward. The important thing to Google beyond the cost of resolution is to make sum certain that any settlement makes the Vringo problem go away permanently thus maybe the reason for the extensions and delays to arrive at a possible settlement. Just my thoughts on the matter...have a happy thanksgiving!
