Could have been a virus and not necessarily caught at the map site. I've never had an operating system reload that stalled and crashed 5 or 10 times. I tried so many things on a random basis that it is impossible to figure out how the reload actually got done. Nevertheless, the box was working perfect this morning. Still going to take this as a warning to get a second box as the computer is geriatric.
I think that the existing malfing operating system or something in it like a virus or worm was fighting or screwing up the reinstall. Anyone know if "F discing" would help that? As I recall, F discing is a program that wipes the entire hard drive clean. Last night that was not a concern as I was reduced to pondering whether the box would make a good doorstop.
