LOL! Good One. Just another example of how rediculously backwards and antiquated the FDA is. I really liked your SUV example. I also wonder how the FDA would have handled registering the first automobile: FDA: "Ok sir does it have four legs and eat hay?" Answer, Well No, it has a motor instead of legs and uses alchohol or gasoline for fuel instead of hay." FDA: Sorry, We have no such registration code for such a confounding gadget like this. Your going to have to file a DeNovo form and wait 'till hell freezes over before you can get properly registered. Then, come back when we all get a lot smarter -OK?" Or how about a hovercraft? I think the DMV could probably handle devices way more efficiently than the FDA. (I realise the DMV came after the first automibile - just having some fun).
