Did you buy AAPL at $15.00 and sell at $30.00? Did you buy AMZN at $10.00 and sell at $25.00? Did you buy PCLN at $4.00 and sell at $15.00?

There are alternatives to riding along.

#1. Sell "portion" of holdings and ride the rest "free" shares.

#2. After you have established a nice gain, place a trailing stop. In "pinkyland" the percentage spread off highs, to set stop, has to be wide enough to accept a certain level of volitility.
