I agree about knowing 100% about a deal. But, I have a hard time believing that the IR department would be out of the loop so much as to say a buyout of SRGE was a baseless rumor.

I especially think it would be a huge problem to state in a email the rumor was baseless. The email would have stated they can't comment on any pending deals or something to that effect.

The buyout rumors do more harm than good to SRGE. The originator of the Goldcorp rumor stated that it was imminent and going to happen and that Goldcorp had already looked at SRGE and it was a go. This proved to be completely false. This guy is the originator of most of the SRGE rumors.

Then the week it was supposed to happen a new deal magically appears.
