Yes, I’m guilty as charged -- I should not have impugned your DD for failing to know about the Crusoe CMS upgrade for the HP Tablet PC (the TC1000). However, you are guilty of calling the CMS upgrade a “hack” without having any technical basis for doing so.

With the CMS upgrade, the “performance” issue with the TC1000 becomes nothing but a canard. People who actually own the TC1000 – as opposed to the journalists or consultants who write about it – seem to be wildly enthusiastic. Moreover, the TC1000, despite the supposed marketing drawback of having a Crusoe rather than a Pentium inside, holds the leading market share among tablet PC’s by a wide margin. Regards, Dew
