OT - Wadegarret Computer Problem

I'm just a user, not a computer expert. But I've had to deal with a few parasites and nasty things before. Here's what I would do.

1) Go to this link at doxdesk. Just by going there, it will do a pretty good scan of your sytem for parasites, and will also tell you how to fix them:

http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/

2) Download and run Regseeker.

http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm

This is the best Registry program I've ever used. It's also free. Once downloaded, Click on "Clean The Registry" (make sure the "backup before deletion" box is checked -- it should be by default), then click OK, and let it do it's magic. If your machine doesn't crash, it'll surely find loads of stuff. Choose "Select All" and then hit the Delete button on your keyboard. (Your mileage may vary, but I've never had it make a mistake.) Now all the bad entries are gone, but they've also been backed up.

3) Download and run HijackThis! here:

http://castlecops.com/downloads-file-328.html

Here is a page that shows how to interpret the results:

If you're not comfortable with what to delete and not delete, then

4) Register at Castlecops and tell them your problem and include the log from hijackthis. Read the rules of the board first so you don't waste their time. If I recall, I think this is a volunteer effort by some Google employees. They're very helpful. Tell them your problem, show them your hijackthis log, and they'll walk you through it. If they can fix your problem, donate a few bucks to them.

Let us know how it turns out.
