Bobwins- computer question

Bob- I remember you talking once about working on your computer. I wouldn't clutter up the board during the day with this question, but just wondering if you could help me with this. My computer crashes a lot, and a message comes up just before it crashes that says something about the registry settings being corrupted. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall Windows, or could I fix it another way? Thing is, uninstalling and reinstalling Windows is a big hassle and I have to download all my software again too. When I run my anti virus scan, the computer crashes in the middlie of the scan every time, so I can't find out if I have a virus. When I run my spyware program, I get one message that my computer has been hijacked, but the computer crashes before it can finish the scan. What do you think? Wade
