1) Elite was founded in 1990 with the intent of developing oral drug delivery systems....such as controlled release and abuse resistant products 154 and 216 most notably.

2) In it's infancy Elite was solely a R&D company lacking in manufacturing and packaging capabilities. It essentially helped other pharmaceutical companies like GlaxoSmithKline, Novo Nordisk, and Celgene develop niche products for their continued pipeline. It should also be noted that Novartis has been assigned one of Elite's patents. In other words, from its inception Elite was a top notch R&D company for which it is still used today.

3) Elite then later developed its manufacturing capabilities and their ability to maintain the rights to manufacture most of its products even if it licenses it's technology out to BIG PHARMA....which it will!!! You think that BIG PHARMA when faced with their block buster drug patents expiring won't come to Elite to help them convert them into oral drug delivery systems. LOL LOL of course they will and gladly!!! WORTH MILLIONS IN ROYALTIES AND LICENSING FEES!!! When will this happen you ask??? With Elite garnering their Eli 216 Patent for ALL OPIOIDS....IT IS ALREADY IN THE WORKS....generic companies for the most part don't have Elite's capabilities to extend the life of these products!
