Some things to consider:

I'm told Harris lost to Ericy in another patent suit in 2001. They may want retribution.

Harris has already said this was their costliest litigation, and was a waste of their time, and that of the Dallas Court.

Ericy may owe $130 million to Infineon in purchasing obligations. If you add another $140 million difference ($180 vs. $40) for Harris, that's damn near $300 million (may not include interest/legal fees).

I'm not trying to guess the amount they might settle for. Just trying to figure out which way their might go.
