The source/target of a transfer of escrow shares may have certain peculiarities -- eg, can't be treated like a simultaneous buy/sell (because they can't be bought/sold), and some "systems" that transfer between one broker and another may not like the "special" CUSIP type, etc, etc. Some will use an automated system, others manual -- and both may be problematic with special "escrow" shares.

So, yea, the advise that it depends on your broker is probably the best one...

And the alternative, since you can't buy/sell them, what's the motivation in wanting to move them?
