I am being real. It ain't gonna happen. It's impracticable. And we, as a nation, don't have enough gold.

In addition, were we to do it, no doubt individuals would be prohibited from owning gold, except for coin collectors and those who like gold jewelry. That's how it was the last time we were on a partial gold standard. The price was fixed at $35 an ounce.
