No Zomby, reality likely is is that the contract details need to be finalized and as a result revenue recognition matters need to be defined by InterDigital for their reporting. Contrary to popular belief, when cash is received that does not automatically trigger revenue to be recognized, case and point, look at the deferred revenue from, allegedly, Intel which has been received but not recognized into revenue. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for revenue have several criteria for recognition and in the United States has several further principles that apply to a variety of scenarios which will determine how revenue should be recognized. Think of it as a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book, if you choose one way that will lead you down a totally different path. Without a formal final agreement the path on the flow chart can't be determined. Draft agreements don't count. Furthermore, revenue guidance is not even a requirement of companies to provide and again contrary to popular belief, a number of companies do not give it let alone earnings guidance. You said as usual IDCC must be having issues getting paid for patents, which is wrong, InterDigital has historically never had issues collecting from sold patents.
