"GLOBETEL COMMUNICATIONS Corp. (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) -- The telecommunications and financial-services provider appointed Sir Christopher Meyer, former United Kingdom ambassador to the U.S., as chairman. Sir Christopher, 61, will remain chairman of the U.K. Press Complaints Commission. He succeeds Przemyslaw Kostro, 43, who remains on the board. Mr. Kostro cited his desire to retain the privacy of his family and the completion of the company's initial public offering of shares as reasons for stepping down."
