Those testing knew if the tech worked withing a couple of weeks. My understanding of the length of the process is the time required for them to determine if they can use it, if they want to market it, and will anyone buy it.

The fact that they still have it indicates they know it works. It takes time to determine if they want to spend the money to gear up to make it and market it.

The longer they have it (within reason) the better our chances of them choosing to order the final product, or joint venturing, or buying us.
